Rococo

Rococo developed during the early 18th century, particularly in France and Central Europe, as a lighter and more intimate evolution of Baroque architecture and decoration. It emphasized elegance, refinement, asymmetry, fluid forms, delicate ornamentation, and richly designed interiors rather than the monumentality associated with earlier Baroque architecture.
